[Email] BETA - Webmail update

Hey all,

This one has been a long time coming. The new webmail is online! It's running in BETA to make sure that if we find kinks, we can iron them out before going live and before removing the old system.

The link to the beta system is here: »mail.teksavvy.com

Here are the highlights you need to know:

• You can use the old system or the new system right now, they are interchangeable (emails appear in both) except for the contacts.

• By default, the contacts in the old system are not in the new system. When we go live, we will copy the contacts from the old system onto the new system and overwrite whatever may have been added in the new system.

• If you want to have your contacts in the new beta system, prior to going live, you need to tell us and we will have them manually copied over. Please note however that the master copy is on the old system and it is what will be copied over when we go live. The contacts on the old system are what you need to maintain until we go live.

• Different URL during the beta as both email systems run in parallel. – You should only use the new system if you want to be part of the beta.

What’s new in TekSavvy Webmail?
• Brand new login interface
• Login screen optimized for mobile devices
• Multiple language selection
• Forgotten password reset
• Outlook like email editor
• Familiar friendly user interface
• Drag, Drop, Right Click Option features on the web browser
• Multiple preview panes
• Enhanced email editor with multiple options
• Search Bar to search emails
• Save contacts with many options
• Save appointments in Calendar
• Change Password/ Signature and many Options
• Personalize your details
• Forward emails from the Interface
• And many more…

let me know what you think!? I'm pretty excited about this.

Yay, back to IceWarp in a new and refreshing way! Looking good.

This thing is feature packed. I can't find anything it's missing at first glance. Very nice!

Edit: The "Remember me" checkbox doesn't appear to work quite right. The cookies seem to get created (i.e. "lastLogin" and "permanentLogin") but the Email Address field is still left blank every time I come back to mail.teksavvy.com after clicking the checkbox before a successful login. I already cleared my cache and cookies and trying again to no avail.

Any chance for some screenshots Marc? Especially for those of us that don't use TekSavvy's mail.

Great to see IceWarp back. My rules from the old one are even still there. But my contacts are all gone.

Whatever, I won't be using it much anyway. Been with Tek a long time but I have to tell you that whole webmail "upgrade" thing was a big negative. It was so useless I got my own domain and email with a better webmail interface and now have total portability, a bad thing for you.

So why did you change from IceWarp anyway? It was obvious early on the "new" webmail was a downgrade. I and many other people pointed out how inferior the "new" webmail was and it did not get taken seriously. Would have been so much better to just upgrade to newer IceWarp. Jeez guys.

When it goes live all contacts will be transferred over! So no need to worry

Yay, the forwarding option is back!

I don't use it, (rather have everything forwarded to my gmail account), but it sure looks nice.

Roundcube isn't that bad. For the webmail GUI I personally prefer Roundcube (yes there are a few missing features) but it generally works quite well. However given that IceWarp's interface is integrated with the email server it's easier on the operating side (especially regarding the missing features everyone is talking about).

Great stuff. I like the interface.

Feels like a random nitpick but hey its beta..

Under Tools, options, calendar, holidays, countries to subscribe to
There is no Canada

Also seems canadian holidays aren't showing up by default on the calendar to account for canada not being an option.

Get dead blank screen when Login using an IE based browser without ActiveX plug-ins enabled. Looks like it requires XML DOM ActiveX plug-ins for IE based browsers. (site also makes use of Adobe Flash plug-in, yuk)

You should be able to reproduce by login using "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)" version of IE in Windows.

(I'm just reporting something that happens, please spare me the lectures.)

I believe you have to call in, or post in direct forum. I think they are working on being able to do that in the new customer portal at some point.
