Re: [Weather] Shovelled at 6:30, 8, 10:30 and will have to again

i think we got about 4-6" here in London...no biggie...took about 25 minutes to clear out with the snowblower...some people stayed home today...it wasn't THAT bad out.

I got home and the snow blower fairy had been by, the driveway and the sidewalk were cleaned right up.

Just had to shovel the path into the backyard, along with the front and back porches.

BONUS!

We got 8-10" depending on how the drifts formed. Thank God it was light and fluffy but it still took me 45 minutes to blow out the driveway and sidewalk. The piles are approaching six feet high. I'm running out of space to put snow!

It felt more than that amount, I did it before I left, then had to blow about the same after getting home.

i'm guessing at the amount...it is kind of hard to gauge at my house as we get a lot of drifting...some parts were higher than the "mouth" of my snowblower (which i think it is about 25"), but i guess the "average" to be about 5" or so...i'll have to wait and see the official number.

windsor with 14cm and Waterloo with 17, so London likely got around 15cm...basically around what i figured we got.

Only because there was too much snow. They clear the windrows here from driveways but there was so much snow that it still left a large pile. I went out right away to remove it before it got more solid.

Our road had been plowed earlier and seemed in reasonably good condition. Cleared out the tailings and our driveway was clean. Got woken up at 4am by a plow going by and it left another nice present. Asshole!

I can't believe that Pearson only recorded 14cm because I know we got hit by more where I am (SQ1 area)

Driving back was fun in a couple of spots as the roads were still unplowed. Car had that 1/2 sec feeling of "you want to do what?" at the lights on those roads (But better that 1/2 second that then full three seconds the idiot in the lane beside me had when he punched it, his front wheels spun and he started crabbing sideways towards me)

I forgot to mention, I cleared the snow plough mess with no pants on I was wearing those comfy pj pant thingies. They were actually warm enough. No socks, but wearing boots.

I work out of two different offices, both literally "across the street" from Pearson, and 14cm is about right.

28 cms in Downsview.. Crazy.

They didn't have Scarborough listed, but my hood was around that amount also I'd say, between 25-30cm, higher in wind drifts..

Nice and sunny here.. now if they'd only plough the parking lot. wiith the amount of snow on the "ground" , even a 4x4 can get stuck.

3 people died shoveling in Hamilton?

OMG!

"Vancouver Cold Weather Record Broken"

"Yes, it really is as cold as you think out there. Vancouver broke a 66-year-old record on Thursday morning with a frigid reading of -8.4 degrees Celsius at YVR."

"The previous record was set on Feb. 6, 1948, when the temperature hit -7.8 degrees Celsius, reported The Weather Network."

Drove a relative back from Pearson Airport to their place in Aurora today. Once you hit the older subdivisions, anything that isn't a straight shot for a plow was left untouched by today.

Guess what kind of a road they live on? An untouched crescent. If I didn't have snow tires and AWD they would have either been walking with their luggage home on that road or helping me get unstuck every six feet :/

Sunshine Yes. Windy yes.
Nice? May be. But good for skiing. In the middle of the pond. High Park.
And yes spotted Bald Eagle. A pair made high park home last month only.
These birds are rarely seen in such area like Toronto city.
