[WIN7] Microsoft teredo tunneling Adapter problem

The device manager shows a yellow triangle and This device cannot start. (Code 10).
And trying to update the driver MS shows that the Driver is up to date.
The MS auto automated troubling service does not fix the problem.
All software on my computer is up to date.
I went to the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ ... 4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 and could find the teredo tunneling Adapter anywhere in the list.

I am baffled and have run out of ideas and where to look for info.
Win 7-64 hp

Any helpful ideas will be appreciated.

Can you check the following registry key?:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP6\Parameters

At that key in right window is there a Name DisabledComponents

If so, what is under "Data" for that Name?

I usually disable toredo, so I keep this link handy:

»support.microsoft.com/kb/929852

Might consider running "Re-enable IPv6 on nontunnel interfaces and on IPv6 tunnel interfaces ".

Good luck.

That was under dave's link. It had 8e in it so I changed it to 0 and then looked in the Device Manager but that did not help. Should I have restarted the computer before looking in The device manager?

OK, I put a zero in there and now the Microsoft teredo tunneling Adapter is missing in the device manger. What is the proper way to get it back?]

This is getting to be more fun by the minute. LOL

If it is working properly it should be hidden.

Device Manager > View > Show hidden devices

WOW thanks. I run an ipconfig/all yesterday and nothing appeared there so I was worried . And when I run the command "netsh interface teredo show state" less showed than before.

An old saying that has been running through my mind lately "The more you learn, the more you find out how much you do not know."

Thanks to all you guys.
