I found that and looked into it but my anti-virus program popped up. It also wants to scan my files. How safe is this? |

I'm hearing a steady stream of complaints about the latest iTunes update. Unfortunately, what you have encountered is not an isolated incident. |

I just downloaded the zip file and extracted it, scanned both before and after. Nothing came up on AV..Using ESet 7. Results from Virus Total.

The issue may be the QTMovieWin.dll which can cause iTunes not to function properly such as here. Try copying the QTMovieWin.dll in the c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support folder to the c:\program files (x86)\iTunes folder (If using 32-bit Windows the leave out the (x86) for the location) If that does not work try what is suggested in the following link: » discussions.apple.com/do ··· DOC-6562 |

I fixed this multiple times by uninstalling ALL iTunes/apple component programs and reinstalling iTunes. I removed bonjour, apple application support, apple mobile device support, iCloud, iTunes, etc. one occurrence I used the windows installer cleanup utility to remove apple application support and "\program files\common files\apple\apple application support" |

Thanks to everyone who put in their two cents. |
