The question should be "why" is NBC shooting a venue they paid $750M USD for broadcast rights to in the foot?

Maybe they are venting frustrations at not having mints on their pillows every morning and all the other luxury perks (lightbulbs, doorknobs, private toilets) that they are used to while covering foreign events.

In the video in the second link, you can see that the "new" pc is running Windows 7 (or possibly Vista) and Office 2007.

So the Macbook Air being opened fresh from its box was just a public stab at Apple from a Microsoft partner named NBC, disguised as news.
