Logging into Hitron modem while in Bridge mode

I have seen a blog entry that says that you should write down the IP numbers of your cable modem when in Gateway mode so that you can still log into it after you change to Bridge mode.

That blog entry was for the CGN2 and talked about Cable Modem IP.

For the CGN3 I don't see cable mode IP. On the DOCSIS WAN page I see a 7.73.162.X entry for IP address and a Gateway entry - the subnet is 255.255.252. If I want to access the device when I am in bridge mode do I need to access 7.73.162.X? So that means I need to assign a static IP to a PC within that subnet? Do I need to care about the Gateway on my PC?
