OlympicsI forget; is there no love for the Winter Olympics here or are you boycotting for personal/social reasons? I had hoped to spend part of the winter in Sochi working for a hotel but things didn't work out.
I rather enjoy the insane sliding down hills events.

Astonishing game by Slovenia to defeat Slovakia early this morning, and they were 18 seconds away from a shutout too. |

US - Russia hockey game was amazing. Tied at end of regulation. Tied at end of OT. And an 8 round shoot out ended up with a 3-2 US win. Very exciting game. The only thing that could be more exciting was if it was a game for the gold. |

- country lists having a total of 148 adult male hockey players
- one NHL player (Kopitar) on their Olympic team
This is the country/team that beat Team Slovakia that includes Chara (BOS), Hossa (CHI), Halak (STL), Handzus (CHI), Meszaros (PHI), Tatar (DET), Visnovsky (NYI), Kopecky (FLA), Panik (TBL), and several more NHL players. |

My interests wanes when I can't watch the good stuff when it happens and instead it's on delay for advertising purposes. I find it interesting the committee won't allow Ukrainian athletes to wear black arm bands. |

The IOC wouldn't allow a memorial sticker to Sarah Burke on the helmets of the Canadian snowboard team either, but they'll allow commercial endorsements on the boards themselves.  |

They've been unstoppable but they'll both be playing the NHL game,instead of that trap style the Europeans play.
Either way I just hope it's as exciting as the women's game today..........that was pretty special. |

Give Canada gals credit....they dug down and did what they needed to do.
Unfortunately the USA gals could not quite hold on to the lead. I knew when USA did not score at the start of OT, it was curtains when Canada went on the powerplay.
Hopefully the USA men win today. |

In 2010 Men's gold medal game, it was Canada who led in the 3rd period, and the US team tied it too in last minute of play to send it to overtime... Canada won regardless, but they blew a 2-0 lead themselves... |
