Is this mail from Cogeco legitimate?I today received an email from Cogeco with "Upgrade/Scan your Mailbox" in the subject line.
The sender was: COGECO CUSTOMER SUPPORT (kimnewcombe@cogeco.ca)
I have not opened the mail, but looking at it's source, only content was:
Please Click Here to Remove the threat in your mailbox and also Upgrade/Scan your Mailbox.
Is this a legit email, and what is it about? |

I'd delete it, but maybe wait for a cogeco tech to chime in incase they wana report it to the appropriate department. |

This is fake...
An official email would not come thru a (true or fake) residential account mail address.
Cogeco will never ask you to click on a link "to remove the threat"...
We'd rather give you information on the threat and ask that you do a scan from your own AV or from Cogeco's official Online Scanner... |

OK, thanks for replies. I deleted the message. |
