Unlimited Internet UsageWhether you're a new or existing customer, you can download and upload as much as you want on your Bell Internet connection at home - without having to worry about your usage ever again. It doesn't get any better than this1.
Plus, with Bell Internet, you can enjoy a reliable and secure service with fast speeds and Wi-Fi home network included at no charge.
$10.00/mo. extra in a 3-service bundle including TV2. Otherwise, $30/mo. extra. » www.bell.ca/Bell_Interne ··· InternetWhen are we going to get this same option from Cogeco? Bell has had this for over a year now, are you alive Cogeco? or do you just not care as usual. |

Ahh yes... but that's from Bell Canada, a company that only a fool would deal with.
We were fools. We had Bell phone, Fibe Internet and TV. We were already phone and Internet subscribers when Bell called to offer us Fibe TV. They were made aware that we would be moving from Scarborough to Cobourg within a year and they assured us the services would be available in Cobourg by the time we moved. Long story short, Bell couldn't provide the same services in Cobourg so we cancelled and moved everything to Cogeco. We had to fight but eventually Bell agreed to waive cancellation fees because they couldn't provide the service. After back and forth over the final billing a Bell rep and I came to an agreement that they owed us $14 and change. They were to send a cheque. Over the next FIVE MONTHS they sent us many "Final Bills" for various things - early termination fees, equipment not returned etc. Each time I responded with proof of shipment, proof of receipt etc. and each time thought the issue was resolved. Then they placed the account with a collection agency. Keep in mind THEY OWED ME MONEY.
I sent a registered letter to the Ministry of Consumer Services, Consumer Protection Branch, George Cope (President of BCE) and the president of collection agency (can't recall his name). Finally, Bell agreed to pay me the money that I was aware they owed plus a bit more for a "billing error" they found plus the cost of postage for all the registered letters. They were unwilling to reimburse me for the 20+ hours I wasted dealing with their inept billing department and the scum of the earth collection agency they sent after us.
Now they have the nerve to harass me regularly with pleas that I "come back to Bell".
I'll go to two cans and a string before Bell Canada will get another penny from me.
the website tohellwithbell.weebly.com has the full story with all the proof including the ridiculous and fraudulent "Demand for Payment" from the collection agency. |

I agree that bell is really bad, but that doesn't mean that Cogeco can't offer the same thing. We have bell phone because we like having a separate real landline phone service. As much as I hate bell, I would switch in a heart beat to get unlimited internet instead of paying the absurd amount of overage charges we get now. Too bad they can't offer us Fibe internet here. Still looking for other alternatives in the mean time. |

They've cared for a very long time, Cogeco's business packages have been unlimited since bandwidth caps made it onto the scene. There are many regulars here that have known this since the early days and were mum on the topic since they weren't sure if it was a grey area type deal, and should keep their mouths shut, or if it was intentional. Since the mailers were sent out that the service is truly unlimited, it seems that's the way to go if you want unlimited. |

Hmm, Cogeco DID offer Unlimited usage back when my family switched to Cogeco Internet....and even completely removed their grandfathered package in favor of Turbo 14 (due to similar cost/speeds). I really wish they would have just kept it going, guaranteed there were people abusing the system downloading as much as their hard drives could handle every month causing the loss of this package |

Can you get the business plan at a residential address? Or without actually operating a business? If so, that is surely what I would do, why not since it is unlimited! Otherwise, they still need to give an unlimited add on for residential service. |

I had no problem getting a business account at my residential address in Hamilton (at that time). I paid through the nose for it mind you, but they hooked me up no questions asked. Mind the contract terms. They charge for early termination.

Sure, there's plenty of people here doing it. I'd suggest that anyone who does it should be reasonable about downloading but there have been months where I've been unreasonable and they didn't complain... |

There is no reason we don't already have unlimited internet usage. |
