Re: Upload Speeds Increased! Max Turbo 5 Mbps/Max Plus 2 MbpsThat much I definitely agree on. In fact, if the max turbo tier did indeed get bumped to 24/5 then I'll be downgrading both of my 45/6 lines. The upload is the only thing I care about and if the power tier has the same upload as the max turbo tier then there's no need to pay the extra $$$ for the download speed I never use. |

now i'm just getting bummed out looking at more and more max turbo speed tests getting faster upload speeds than what i get in the power tier... i would be satisfied if AT&T decided to increase power tier's upload speed by 1Mb/s so then at least i am a little closer to what i'm paying for. |

To be fair, for some reason I have always gotten slightly over my provisioned tier's upload speed on whatever tier I had. I probably would be getting 5.1 if I wasn't stopped by my 5k upload profile rate + overhead. Maybe it's because I'm close. You guys still keep the NVG589 if you downgrade to Max Turbo, don't you? |

I got a small bump on my 24/3. Maybe after a Tech visit tomorrow I'll have consistent usable service. » www.speedtest.net/my-res ··· 20637188 |

I bet everyone on the 24 mb tier probably now has an additional HD stream available as well? I wonder if the modems are now syncing on a different profile than before? |

Thanks for the post, I saw bobjohnson post that too in the article comments. I wish more people from the Max community spoke up before the article was created . I wonder if the other tiers might have gotten something too, but no one spoke up yet. |

I would also assume that these "bumps" only apply to VDSL2 or xPON accounts, since, at least at present, ADSL2+ accounts are not overprovisioned, on either the Upstream or Downstream side |

ADSL2+ didn't get the over provision bump from a few months ago either( as you said). |

Re: Upload Increased - Max Turbo 5 Mbps/Max Plus 2 Mbps+Possible Power DL Bump?said by Paralel:They can pry my NVG589 out of my cold dead hands considering what I had to go through to get it. Tell me about it. I hated that 2Wire POS device. Like you, this device is the first device that AT&T has provided that hasn't made me consider running my own router behind their device. The NVG589, despite some limitation (no UPnP), at least is usable by power users. The NAT table size alone makes it far better for power users who may have multiple devices on the LAN. The 2Wire device doesn't have nearly the same size NAT table that the NVG589 has. The NVG589 also handles high traffic throughput far more gracefully than the 2Wire devices ever did. I remember when I had the 2Wire device, if I had a download going at full speed on one of the devices on the LAN everything else slowed to a crawl including DNS lookups, new connection handshakes, etc. Yeah, the 2Wire device sucked. |

My latency skyrockets on my 2Wire whenever I have a decent sized download going on. It also runs hotter than an oven lol! I wonder how long it'll take for them to stop giving out the G gateways and only use the newer N ones. |

Re: Upload Increased - Max Turbo 5 Mbps/Max Plus 2 MbpsHad pitiful upload speeds of 0.94 for months. Decided to get it fixed. Tech moved me to a K card yesterday. Max Turbo, 24/3. NVG589, single pair.

Re: Max Turbo Upload Bumped to 5 Mbps? STARTED TONIGHT!Interesting, just ran an informal test (TVs, Wifi, other devices not restricted) and got faster than my 18/1.5 plan as well:
So does anyone know what they did/changed that gives us this speed boost? For me, that's 25% faster download and ~30% faster upload. |
