[Signals] Why did Comcast make my signal worse for no reason? My Upstream signal is now worse than it was before after a 45 minute outage it appears. Nothing was changed. Compare the images for yourself. I'm not having any issues but this doesn't appear to be great. Within acceptable limits and standards tho. |

Comcast doesn't intentionally make a customer's signals "worse". A lot of things come into play why someone's signals change. |

Probably some equipment was replaced, though they might not have set it up to work as well as before if they expected to have to do more work on it in the next few months as long as the signal levels were going to be good enough not to cause outages. Its also possible that someone hooked up a device causing interference in the system, and Comcast may have added some shielding to restore service, but the shielding might not be as good as it was before that source of interference was added. |

I think your definition of worse is stretching it there...
nothing is out of spec, nothing got horribly worse... your Downstream Signal to noise barely changed... you have no idea what your upstream SNR is, it might not of changed at all also... so it's talking back a tiny bit louder, nothing major in terms of changes that couldn't just happen with a temperature swing... heck I see swings in the summer of 4db due to heat |

If heat is causing a 4db shift, you have issues. I'm lucky if mine shifts 1 dB with heat or cold. |

I have yet to see a node in this town that does not shift +/- 4db in extreme heat and cold... they almost always get us zeroed out at the drop (near exactly 0 db) but when its REALLY hot out, we can see -3.xx db and in the winter we've seen +3.xx db, and I know this is happening across town because every house I've been at has this same swing, and even the local line techs say it's expected with the type of amps they are using.. |

amp cascade comes into play too in extreme temps, as the ADUs cant make up the difference. not to mention long trunk runs. |
