[Comcast Equip] Bad STB, or something else?

Is there a way to determine whether a STB is bad and/or dying? A couple months ago, the picture on one TV kept going in and out. I thought the coax cable from the wall was bad (a door runs over a portion of it and degrades it) so I replaced it. That worked for a while, but then the problems started again. After trying numerous things, I was able to determine that the problem had been caused by a dying STB, not the coax cable.

I'm sitting here trying to watch a hockey game and the picture keeps going in and out. Judging by the numbers on the diagnostic screen, I don't think it's the coax cable. The other boxes work fine and the picture doesn't go out on them. This box has been "hanging" on occasion since I got it a few months ago. When I say hanging, I mean that it gives no response when buttons are pushed on the remote. One of the other "new" ones do that too, even though they're different brands and models.

So ask Comcast to swap it?

Call for service call or ask comcast to test the line with equipment hooked up
