[CATV] San Luis Obispo County, California going digital in July 2014I just found out from an employee at Charter Communications that San Luis Obispo County, California is scheduled to go all digital in July 2014. General FCC Info on Cable Systems going encrypted: » transition.fcc.gov/cgb/c ··· tion.pdf |

Hopefully they are a little more accurate then the last employee that came to my house. He said December 12th 2013 back in October. Let's keep our fingers crossed. |

Yea. Charter wants to have all customers go digital nationwide by end 2014. They are almost done with the entire state of Michigan. |

The only state they're entirely digital in so far is South Carolina, but all their systems are clustered in the Greenville/Spartanburg area there. They're working heavily on North Carolina, Missouri and Michigan right now, but those are the only states getting close. They've not really touched major states for them in Minnesota, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee yet. Wisconsin's digital conversion is starting in March. |

Tennessee has only Flintville as all digital |

Interesting, we already got most of the HD channels when we switched to SDV in 2012(?). Are they gonna add more HD channels? |

A lot of the all digital have in between 160-180 (around 60 more then we do) HD channels. And I think there goal is 200 by the end of the year. |

A lot of the hotel owners are concerned about the switch over and many people are still in the dark about this planned switched over because Charter hasn't publicly announced it. Since they haven't i notified our local board of supervisors on the heads up so they do not get blindsided by people.
Many hotels use a single universal tv remote called Clean Remote since it allows them to keep things simple and easy to keep clean. Many hotels are required by their franchise agreement under their QA standards.
I remember back 2013 when talking to Charter, Charter finally started offering a digital encrypted to unencrypted analog/digital conversion system that they can place at the business location to help with cable distribution in hotels. I dont know what the costs are. |

Got my robocall from charter today about the digital transition. Pretty close to the 30 day notice call. Sounds like it's on track. |

Just got the notice that the digital transition is taking place on July 15th since i will need an addition set top box for my other TV by that date. How long after everything goes all digital do we get the faster speeds? |

There's no set time. Some are saying a couple of weeks. Here it was over a month. YMMV |

I doubt we will be getting the bump up to the 100/5 upgrade when the it happens but it would be a nice surprise. But even doubling from 30 to 60 will be nice. |

Supposedly the 60/4 is part of the Spectrum upgrade. Time will tell.... |

My stb got upgraded to Rovi last night sometime. Looks pretty similar with some additional features like HD auto-tune. |

Digital transition happened last night on schedule. The only errors i saw was on series recordings on broadcast channels. Easy fix, change the channel option to hd only on the series manager. |

Thanks for the update...still a few more days for us Do you have internet service? If so, did your speeds get bumped up? |

They are testing it. I got 60 megs once or twice last week with 5 upload. That is wireless as well. I'm glad I recently got a new wireless router to keep up. |
