That's definitely what it is. |

They've really managed to shrink the fridges in recent years. |

it is in fact a fridge... you know when your tech has been gone for 3 hours to "work on the vrad" he's actually been on break and that's where they store their munchies... i had a 9.5 hour "upgrade" a few weeks ago (from max plus to power tier) and the tech was here for a few hours then left to the vrad for several hours... came back and left again to the vrad... needless to say, i didn't ever see him go to the bathroom, take a break or eat lunch... just sayin note: when he was here he spent maybe 10 minutes inside stapling a cat5 line in a small room... maybe an hour or 2 at the inid and the other 7 hours going back to the vrad... note: he did have to call in a second tech to fix whatever he did when he was here working on the inid |

Our VRAD is a popular hang out for local ATT trucks...
It's off the road a bit, little parking spot just big enough for two trucks. |

said by Msradell:That's definitely what it is. It could also be an IRAD, or a VRAD Both use the same cabinets and same Alcatel-Lucent 7330 shelves inside. Difference being ADSL2+ line cards (IRAD) or VDSL2 line cards (VRAD) Does the OP know if the current ADSL2+ U-Verse is CO-based ADSL2+, or if it already is RT/IRAD-based ADSL2+? |

Being a tech, we are probably one of the most tracked employees of any company or government. If I take my 30 min lunch and don't dispatch within 31 minutes of the start, I can expect a phone call or Q from LBM or duty manager.
That tech most likely didn't know he had to tech release the order to get your upgrade working.
Usually the idiots at Tier 2 will have us running to the xbox numerous times, yeah work flow engine! |

Awesome. Thanks all for the info. I believe it's CO but I'm not sure. I'm between this box and co so not sure if it will get to me or not. |

But the local PowerCo guys (ComEd) at least used to have in-cab video cams, monitoring them and recording them. I have heard conflicting stories that they may have been taken out or they may have them still. And of course they had all the GPS/VTS stuff too |

Its an ALP-248... The door you can see is the protection/splice chamber.
In the main equipment area it'll have an Emerson or Eltek-Valere power plant, and below that up to two Alcatel 7330's.
EDIT: This is the only config I've ever seen in this type of cabinet. |
