Russian Ouroboros malware devours American files

"The Ouroboros of classical antiquity was a serpent locked in a perpetual cycle devouring its own tail. Taking a page out of the old wyrm's book, the Uroburos malware seeks to engulf whole networks, possibly as part of a Russian espionage plot against the United States.":

Fortunately, home users don't need to worry about this (right now). Will this malware (or a variant of it) attack home PC's in the future? Impossible to say, but hackers never sleep.

And, of course, the questions arise:
1) Is it really "the Russians"?
2) If it truly is "Russian", is it:
-- a) A government/military/FSB operation?
-- b) A sophisticated Russian Business Network (or successor) operation?
-- c) A well-thought-out independent Russian hacker operation?

It's way too soon to know, as least based on what has been publicly released thus far. But it's never too soon to let preset opinions jump into play...
