[DSL] 50/10 Progress?

Any progress on this offering?

Depending on the pricing, I may be interested in moving from my current 25/10.

Thanks.

I don't think that's what he meant. I understood it as he is asking if he can get 50mbps FTTN in areas where FTTH is available.

Can you get 25/10 where FTTH is available? Wouldn't the answer be the same for both or am I missing something?

Generally speaking, in areas serviced by FTTH, there is no FTTN. There is normally a legacy 6/0.8 offered, but that's all.

Specifically, there is no ruling yet for the incumbents to open their FTTH networks to TPIA providers, so they've (Bell) been keeping those areas FTTN free.

I don't have ANY nice words to say about Bell so I will keep my comments to myself in this case.

Thanks for the explanation.

25$ for a change of speed from FTTN -> FTTN.

If you are on legacy it's 85$ (full install)

On Cable we do not have any fee to change speed

What about fee from cable to FTTN?

I assume it's the same as the full install when switching from legacy: $85

Has to be the same as from legacy no?

Why would it be any different? The installer needs to visit.

I wonder if Ebox will be switching to one installer for FTTN like the other TPIAs (instead of the two currently required). Maybe that will lower the cost?

Just out of curiosity, how are pings times to ebox on FTTN compared to Cable?

I'm usually between 9 and 12 ms.

I have no idea about cable.

yeah that makes quite a difference . I would be interested to compare with someone else in Quebec to see what the difference is, even if it doesn't really make a difference.

Actually, I re-tested and I was wrong...

I would be curious to see of the DSL from montreal running a tracert to montreal.voip.ms is any faster on the first couple of hops.

It would be interesting. I *might* be moving to a DSL ready household during the summer and now that 50/10 is available, I might be considering it.
