[Equipment] Generic OEM Firware For Innomedia MTA6328-2Re?

I picked up a MTA6328-2Re V2 which was claimed to be unbranded and usable with any provider. Turns out in reality it's a Sunrocket device. I've gone through the procedures to unlock it that can be found many places on the internet. However I still can't get it to work. It doesn't seem to be even attempting to make a connection to my provider.

Anybody out there happen to have a copy of an OEM 4.x firmware they would be willing to share? I've sent an email to Innomedia as well but expect them to respond that they don't support end users.

As it currently stands the only thing the device is good for is being a paperweight!

Thanks!

Perhaps this will help.....

There's been some success with cracking into these. I bought a whole bunch of Telco AC-211 from US Datanet, and with the tools I cracked the master passcode... now I can get into them.... and make them "Generic"... 'cept that password.

I found these two image files, but im not sure which is which or if they will be helpful to you. But i'm not sure if they would brick your device or not, so consider this a warning

You should be able to configure the innomedia to connect to any sip provider with the "unlocked" sunrocket firmware.

Just make sure provisioning is turned off.

Thanks propcgamer for the effort, unfortunately the first is the same Sunrocket firmware I already have and it won't accept the second. Watching from a telnet session it states the image ID doesn't match. Makes me wonder if there's a lock of sorts to prevent cross flashing between customised versions for different providers.

I figured out how to turn on debugging mode and realised that it actually IS trying to connect to my provider, but I'm getting back a "403 Unauthorised". Here's what the packets look like modified to remove my actual username.

Does this give any hints? I thought perhaps NAT was an issue seeing 192.168.1.105 in here, however did try connecting directly to my cable modem eliminating that variable with the same results.

Silly question, but have you tried connecting using the same username and password with a softphone? (Such as blink or x-lite)

Problem solved for now, more or less. Picked up a Cisco SPA-112 at Fry's yesterday and I'm up and running. They key item the Innomedia is missing is "Auth INVITE". That's not to say it isn't buried somewhere, but it's not a readily selectable option in the Sunrocket firmware.

I have to really knock what seems like a more and more common view of VOIP hardware manufacturers that the end users is unworthy of any kind of support. I don't expect hand holding, but they at least should provide things like firmware upgrades to the public. Not to mention if there's a warranty, support for genuine hardware issues.

I went through this with Audiocodes, I was working on a MP-204 that was still under warranty that wouldn't store it's configuration to flash. Basically if it lost power, it went back to defaults. They wanted me to sign up for a service contract that costs far more than the device to even speak to someone in support!
