[Connectivity] IPv4 10/10, IPv6 10/10, but sporadic NAT & SIP latency issues

Modem: SURFboard SB6121 with IPv6 Only
Router: ASUS RT-AC66U running Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.39, Native DHCP-PD

Most of the time, the above combo is running quite well. Visits to »test-ipv6.comcast.net show 10/10 for IPv4 and IPv6. Everyone is happy.

Unfortunately, the news isn't quite so good during peak business hours. Issues have emerged after the switch to IPv6 only. Citrix Client sessions (IPv4 NAT) and IP telephone calls (SIP) can hang for several seconds every few seconds. The more detailed tests available through »n1.netalyzr.icsi.berkeley.edu capture the issue. The IPv6 network remains solid, but netalyzr observes these short IPv4 outages.

It's a frustrating situation to get IPv4 and IPv6 working quite solidly only to see these periodic IPv4 network performance gaps - especially during the business day when we most need rock-solid performance. A few neighbors have experienced similar issues. We're crossing our fingers that Comcast is watching for and correcting these little IPv6 cutover glitches quickly. On conference calls, we Comcast users are getting teased a bit from our FIOS peers. If our voice gets choppy or our comments arrive a couple of seconds too late, we're hit with "must be on Comcast". Having fought for the right to do some work from home, it would be sad to lose ground due to faulty infrastructure. It's good to see IPv6 coming along ... just not at the expense of IPv4 connectivity.
