Belkin AC 1200 v4Just bought the router, to work with a Comcast modem (Arris TM822G). I have one wired connection to a Desktop. Very pleased so far, the only problem is that when ever I switch off the desktop, I have to reset the modem. I am aware of the fact that with Comcast when a new device is connected, the modem has to be reset/powercycled in order to see it.
I will probably clone the desktop address in the router settings, would that be the solution to stay connected with the modem when I shutdown the desktop, or not...? |

Comcast is a cable connection, so yes. You can clone the MAC address of your desktop on your Belkin Router, so that you won't have to reboot your modem every time you turn your desktop off. |

Actually, it didn't make any difference. The router would drop the connection every other day, the only thing that would fix it was to reset the modem. Last night it did the "self healing thing" the only way I could get back online despite resetting the modem and pulling the power on the router was to factory reset the router.
It did get a firmware update a few days ago (dated Feb this year). Been satisfied with it's performance when it's on, but even the cheapo Netgear I used previously kept the connection. Decided to take it back and get an ASUS... |

Looking at ASUS they seem to have their share of firmware problems. Guess I'll keep it a while longer to see if the connection stays up after the firmware update. |
