shaw 2nd ip problem
shaw admin told me i should have 2nd ip but i am still not getting thru when trying to connect to the modem via the switch. however i am getting internet when i connect thru the router . is this a clear sign that i dont have ip from shaw yet? btw, i already reset the modem.

When you connect your modem do your switch, instead of directly to your router, you connect this router to the now installed switch, and you don't get internet?
This wouldn't be an IP issue, if your router stayed working, but unable to get internet access on a 2nd device you connect to this switch, then yes, I would contact Shaw and confirm the modem shows them 2 IPs, not just when they look at the billing screens
