[Cable] cable Internet from Teksavvy: public IP address?I have a cable Internet from Teksavvy. I use Technicolor (Thomson) DCM476 cable modem provided by Teksavvy. It has one (output) Ethernet port. If I connect a computer or VOIP ATA directly to the modem, will it have a public IP address? Of course, dynamic one. Or will it be behind a router (either built-in the modem, or on the provider side)?
BTW, the modem is locked, so I cannot change any settings or do port forwarding. |

The DCM476 is not locked. It just has no features that you can change since it's a bridge-only cable modem, meaning it will just assign the device plugged into it a public IP address. |
