[Other] BasicTalk DTMF

A friend of mine has BasicTalk and says that DTMF doesn't work very well at all. I asked him if this service allowed him to make any configuration changes in the ATA and he didn't know.

Anyone know if there is any config changes that an end user can make in the BasicTalk ATA and/or how he can make DTMF work better?

I wouldn't think that an end user can make any changes in the Basictalk ATA because it is locked by provider.

Basictalk is of course Vonage so you'd think they'd have no issues with that sort of thing after all these years.

Is your friend using a decent telephone?

No changes like that are allowed to that device once it has been connected to the internet and locked to that provider.

Don't know. Will ask him. He ported from a copper POTS and overall is very happy with BasicTalk.
Thanks!

And I should have been more specific:

AFAIK some cordless phones (whether officially designated DECT or not) have DTMF problems with VoIP.
