According to reviews noone, nobody keeps any sort of a log. I want to believe it though.

Some of the comments and comment threads are as informative as the actual reviews. It pays to read them, too.

I would take any un-audited, self-reporting statements from these companies with a grain or 10 of salt.....

Absolutely! How would anyone even know if a VPN provider wasn't setup as a honeypot by the NSA, MIAA, RIAA, etc?

That is the final jeopardy question, isn't it.

Re: New VPN review

What happened to EarthVPN? They used to be competitive to Proxy.sh but cheaper...

PrivateVPN quit working for me this evening. I reached out to their online support, and the guy there was truly... well, the words I want to use probably wouldn't get past the censors. I eventually got it going again, but they will not be getting any more of my hard earned dollars.

I was toying with going to them when Btguard was down. Then I found hidemyass.com. Might give them a try. I should go with a vpn solution.

You could just set up your own with OpenVPN Access Server on a VPS. I do this with a 512 MB box with BuyVM.net. Their servers are US based, if that's a problem.

You can get a 128 MB box for $15 a year, and load a pre-configured OpenVZ OpenVPN-AS image and be off and running in minutes. That's enough to run just OpenVPN AS. Or get a 256 or 512 MB box if you want to seed torrents, create a web page or what-not. Their service is top notch, and my box has only gone down once in 6 months.

Please use my link below to get there if you want to check it out, I get some sort of discount if you sign up. Frantech is what the parent company of BuyVM.net is.

I use Ipredator. I think their track record makes them about as trustworthy as you could get - the man behind it is one of The Pirate Bay's founders. (Peter Sunde)

Supernews does not allow VPN connections to their servers, do you know of any other usenet provider that has this rule?

Hidemyass will log your activity. If you're concerned about that.

I switched from HMA last year got on with IPVanish and they don't log anything, found them on torrentFreak, use them mostly for P2P...
