[Cable] CGN3-ROG Modem

Would anyone know if this modem is any good, and if it's also compatible with Teksavvy service?

FS is having them on sale for $149 and a bonus of $25 gift card. This sale ends tomorrow.

Thanks!

It is a horrible pile of junk. I'm not kidding. If you run it in bridge mode it literally crashes every 24 hours or less unless you get the latest firmware version (4.2.4.3), which isn't assured (seems available in certain areas only right now) and can't be forced (the network will upgrade you on it's schedule).

There are also now indications that even the latest firmware version may have some issues (some people are still reporting random "rebooted required" crashes of the device).

Half the people in the Rogers forums with sub-250Mbps speeds have returned theirs and are renting a DPC3825 or a CGN2 instead, pending widespread fixes to the CGN3.

Also no, it's not compatible with TekSavvy; it's a Rogers only device.

TekSavvy's supported modems are:

Huawei MT130U 1A V100R001C01B071
Motorola SB6141 7 1.0.6.12
Motorola SBG6580 1 3.2.1.0-GA-02-249-NOSH
Technicolor DCM475 1.0/2.3.0 STAC.02.16
Technicolor DCM475 1.1 STAC.02.16
Technicolor DCM476 2 AC.02.50
Technicolor DCM476 2.1 AC.02.50
