The problem here is booting a UEFI system with emergency repair disc. You make reference to booting a non UEFI system with repair disc. You think we didn't try turning off UEFI? That option didn't work at all. There's more to this than you think. Also, not all UEFI (BIOS) systems are the same. No single statement about what it does applies across the board.

Well i admit i have no UEFI system and have not had this issue. I can not test this.
But it was stated in his post and the posts the links point to that the only boot disk that don't seem to work is the Windows 7 ERD. So it would seem the problem is with that disk.
Since you can boot with the windows 7 install disk and run repair or if you have the hidden system reserve partition it also has the ERD files either of these should work. I don't think i have heard anyone say those don't work on UEFI system.
All his other boot CD's work and boot the system and other backup software boot from there DVD's and can backup the UEFI disk with no problem so i do not see a UEFI problem over all just a defect in the Win 7 ERD creation process that causes it not to work.
In windows 8 you no longer make a DVD ERD you have to use a drive, USB drive or thumb drive.
