Re: [Internet] Arris SB6183 modem on the way!And to prevent a floating tap, you can attach a 75-ohm terminator or a device that would actually utilize the signals carried over the system (TV, modem, STB, etc.) |

Guess I assumed he would use two outputs for modems and one for TV, hence none would be open. |

Score at Slaughter and 35 best buy! FYI they hide them behind the old 6141's, sneaky! I had to dig for it. |

That was once nice thing about the early 6183 I bought on Ebay. Its black and the lights are not as bright as they are on the retail model. |

Just came back from my local bestbuy store, I got a Motorola sb 6183 for $129.99 plus tax, only two are on the shelf. It took about 20 minute on the phone with twc tech to activate new motorola sb6183. I am going to return twc rental modem, arris DG1670a tomorrow. |

I don't think so, the modem and the box look a lot like the sb6141s. |

Checked 3 bestbuy location near me, motorola sb6183 sold out, listed $129.99 on the price tag. Next to motorola sb6141, when I asked bestbuy employee if they have more motorola sb6183 in stock, one of bestbuy employee went to check, first he looked behind motorola sb6141and motorola sb6121. He did not find any, but he told me that I can place an order in store, then pick it up when motorola sb6183 is available. But I want it now. |

I have my arris 6183 hooked up to a netgear nighthawk modem and I'm not anywhere close to 300/20. At best I'm around 109/6. Does everything look ok here? Any help would be appreciated. |

Are you sure your area was upgraded? 109/6 looks like the old 100/5 plan. If it were Maxx, you should get at least 100/10. |

Standard cat 5 Ethernet patch cords will work fine. Correction: Cat 5e, not Cat5. Cat5e is needed for Gigabit. Its nitpicking, because 95% of Cat5 cables laid out is actually Cat5e, but just in case someone still sells actual Cat5..... You need Cat5e |

I've seen unrated flat Ethernet patch cords get 300/20 when connected to 1 Gbps ports and capable equipment. |

I was getting ~850Mbps over 50 feet of CAT3 in my house. Really depends on the cable and length. |
