Re: 10-port SFP switch

Ok let me narrow down this a bit. We have RAD-STM1 SFPs (7xpcs) and we need to aggregate them. These sfps tranfser 140mbit/s so 10/100 SFP cages are not an option.

I am not sure if Ciscos support them either.

What can you say about the reliability of Planet Switches and Netgears ?

We've have only had ours (8) deployed for about a year now. I've not had any issue with them at this point.

Gerard I think would have more experience with them than I would.

I'm not sure on the compatibility with the sdh sfp's though.

All of mine are deployed in non climate controlled outdoor cabinets. They survived summer heat and below zero temps this winter. I'm using the MGSW series which are rated for higher temps than the SGSW series. I haven't had any problems yet.

What are the SFP's connected to now? I don't know that a regular ethernet switch will work..

They are currently on Juniper Ex2200s and a few Mikrotik CCRs. They work on these devices but not sure about Cisco though. Never used any Cisco before

Are these those "Ethernet over STM1 in an SFP" SFP's?

They present as an Ethernet SFP, but the line side is SDH or SONET, and a built in web server to configure them?

What uplink do you want/need? 1G or 10G? Or not really any uplink in this case?
