Help Interpret Smokeping Results

My ISP is Xplornet. They are notorious for overselling their bandwidth, and blaming any and all problems on the consumer. Hence the reason I am here. I am wondering if there are any brilliant people here who wouldn't mind taking a look at my smokepings, and answering a couple of my questions. »/smoke ··· b732.CA1

Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much! On the line quality test, is the IP address with the 5% package loss, the tower that I'm connected to? This particular test shows a 5% loss; usually, there is a 2% loss there. Is some loss normal? What might cause this? For the smoke ping test, what causes the massive spikes in ping? Thanks in advance for your help. It's truly appreciated.

I'm not as experienced with satellite to say if you should be expecting 0% loss. Any other connection you would. Any chance of cut & pasting that tracert result? Do all the servers show loss or just some?

Spikes in ping could be a few things including:
Poor connection
Congested connection
Bad routing and a host of other problems.

The problems that I experience are sporadic, and definitely seem to be tied to the busy times of day. Of course whenever their tech support calls to 'troubleshoot', it's always on a weekday morning when there is no congestion.

I'm going to say it is almost certainly congestion based problems. If the problem remained in the mornings then we'd be looking at connection.
