You have to wait until AT&T pushes it to you, my sources have told me a rollout is very close within a month, the original poster may have been one of the first to get it, hang in there it will not be long now. |

Anybody know what was changed? Fixed? Added? |

They never tell us anything about the updates. We just have to hope nothing gets broken. |

I also got 9.1.0h12d22 last night. Don't see any immediate changes but the UI is more responsive.
The data pump firmware is A2pv6F038k1.d24h |

Another observation is DNS resolution seems to be A LOT faster!! I'm a happy camper now. |

Just to complete this thread... Edit to add: this is the official bin file provided by AT&T, pulled directly from their firmware push server. It has been placed in a zip file to make the forum software happy. /M |

Ya d22 was released yesterday. You can factory reset your RG if you don't want to wait for ATT to push it to you. |

I got 9.1.0h12d22 deployed about 6 days ago. That really sucks that they dropped the NAT session table to 2560 entries. As brookeKrige said where did the memory go? Probably reclaimed for IPv6 security stuff. |

I downloaded the ZIP file and extracted it, it results in a .BIN file. Is it digitally signed by AT&T for use in this hardware? Has anyone else downloaded said ZIP file and applied the firmware? What has been your success rate? Any bricked routers?
I'd like to go ahead and install it but I want to get as much information as I can before I go ahead and upload it to my AT&T provided NVG589. |

I would wait, the firmware is rolled out automatically. Just to be safe. |

Any idea what time it's being pushed to these routers? I haven't got it yet. What time of the day? Night? Late night? How long is the roll-out period? |

One NVG589 that my family has in Georgia rebooted around 1am EST last night and was updated to 9.1.0h12d22. It resulted in an ip change that borked with the static ip setting I configured in an external cisco router.
Another NVG589 I have in California did not update to 9.1.0h12d22 automatically. I forced a reboot of that modem this morning and it updated to 9.1.0h12d22. |

I'm on the west and it's already rolling out to the 589s out here. If you don't have any special settings on your rg, you could try a factory reset. That might kick it in to update. If your area is rolling the firmware out right now. Att likes to do these crawl, walk phases when it rolls stuff out. On top of my head( not on the clock at this time), I remember reading that the firmware update is coming out and it's purpose was bug fixes and picture freezing. FYI, I only pay attention to the post that says west cal/nev |

I'm still on 9.1.0h12d19 and it's already on 2560: Total sessions available 2560
So the NAT table size was reduced prior to 9.1.0h12d22.
Is there a changelog anywhere? |

It is the official bin file provided by AT&T, pulled directly from their firmware push server. AFAIK it's only "signed" with a checksum to detect download corruption (it's not designed to be cryptographically secure).

said by Wily_One:Is there a changelog anywhere? At least some of the changes are definitely related to IPv6 since it's now "Available." Just did a manual reboot and picked up the new firmware. On 9.1.0h12d19 my IPv6 Status was Unavailable. On 9.1.0h12d22 it now shows: IPv6 Status Available Global Unicast IPv6 Address 2602:304:beef:feed::/60 Border Relay IPv4 Address 12.83.xx.yy That last entry means they're doing something like 6rd? |

Hmmm... Something is different... My FEC's went from 2000/hr to about 500/hr. Browsing seems more responsive also. |

said by Wily_One:That last entry means they're doing something like 6rd? Yes, it is 6rd. They take your public IPv4 assigned address convert it to hex and append it to the 2602:304: prefix and allocate you a /60 IPv6 netblock. |

I had to do a complete factory reset of my NVG589 to force it to download the firmware update.
I had a couple of scares before I did the factory reset in which the NVG589 went into a reboot loop. It would reboot, connect, and then a couple of minutes later it would reboot again. Once all lights on the device simply locked up, stopped flashing, etc.
I was worried that the automated upgrade bricked the device so I pulled the battery out of the bottom, unplugged it, and then re-plugged it in and logged into the user interface and did a factory reset on it. |

Sigh. I was hoping to avoid a factory reset, but my gateway still hasn't updated. Guess I'll have to do that to force the update. |

I have a feeling it will come soon... I got mine this morning around 4 EDT. Usually I am one of the last ones cause of the static IP package... |
