Receiving random shared YouTube videos from random users Random spammed videos |
Has anyone else been receiving these? I block the users, but they keep coming from different names. I don't know any of these users and don't know why they are sending them to me. |

When the email is obviously spam (from the subject line and/or sender information), then I just junk it without reading. So I don't really know for sure. But I have had some subject lines similar to your list. |

The messages really are coming from YouTube. I see the shared videos in my YouTube inbox. I report them as spam within YouTube and block the users. They keep popping up with a different user name every time. |

Okay, fair enough. As far as I know, I don't have a youtube inbox.
For sure, scamming is a growth industry. And I guess they will pop up wherever they can find an opportunity to defraud. |

No, these come to a Yahoo account and occasionally even a Fastmail account. |

The "redacted" comment applies to random character strings. I mostly wanted to minimize the size of my post; they about doubled the character count without adding any useful, forensic data. I also modified my Google Identity in the Subject: line to match my DSLR persona. I shared a YouTube playlist with my Yahoo! account. All that I can see from the headers, other than my name, as given in my Google/YouTube account, is that the email originated with Google. If you don't recognize the name in the Subject: line, maybe somebody you don't know is mistyping one of their friend's email address. |

Got another one at Yahoo and this time looked at the headers. It appears to come from, or through, IMDB since it's 'from' (my ID there). |

Just checked my inbox and I have a bunch. Also lots of different people seem to have "added me as a contact". Not sure why... |
