[WIN8] Won't stay in sleep mode

Every time I put my system in to 'sleep' mode it will come back on by itself.
I have told Windows not to wake PC from the keyboard/mouse and I disabled Intel smart connect and it still does it. How can I make it stay in sleep mode?

Is it wireless keyboard/mouse? Those cheap RF adaptors are notorious for instantly waking after sleeping.

Open a command window and type "powercfg -lastwake" right after it wakes. It should tell you what woke it up.

Have you disabled wake for all the USB hubs in device manager?

They are USB and I guess wake is disabled on the USB hubs because they are all greyed out, I can't seem to get to the tick box.

Should I look for updated chipset drivers from Intel? All the chipset drivers and USB drivers say (Microsoft Corporation).

Do you have a network cable plugged in and if so, is wake on lan enabled in the BIOS? If so, disable wake on lan.

That might be it because when I booted the laptop and it connected to the WiFi, my desktop came out of sleep.

Hah! It is 'Wake On LAN' to.

Keep an eye on it because Wake On LAN is only supposed to apply to ethernet connected computers, not wireless.

Disconnect everything you can and see if the problem goes away. If no, then disable everything you can until the problem goes away.
