Half speed @ prime time [Business Ultimate]

New business ultimate subscriber - previously was using 2xMLPPP Teksavvy and 1x Start.ca 60mbit package.

Cogeco is down to about 30mbit down / 3.8mbit up during prime time hours. In the mornings / late nights its always a consistent 60-62mbit down and 3.8 up. I'm already paying the same price ($205/month) as businesses with 120mbit service - I was told that 60 was the max in my area and too bad, same price. 30-33mbit during prime time hours is not acceptable.

I would like to see some movement on this topic and I would also like to know when the 120mbit service is going to be rolled out in my area.

Wallaceburg has been upgraded and I wouldn't be surprised if Tilbury is upgraded before Chatham. Just have to wait and see as nobody will ever provide an ETA. Congestion is just as bad in Chatham.

Do you know if they throttle usenet as well? Start.ca would max out every day at any time of the day, right now I'm pulling 1.8MB/sec MAX from Giganews no matter how many connections I open. There is definitely more bandwidth available so I'm not sure what's going on here.

Sounds like you are having a problem that is affecting something else. And yes Wallaceburg has been upgraded. A friend of mine who is on Teksavvy Cable 30 has confirmed that he is bonding 8 channels down and 3 channels up and pulling 30/10 with no slow downs at all. I say boo to that.

If you had congestion on your node in Tilbury, Business Support will tell you when you call them. I am on the Ultimate 60 and I get stupid slow speeds, and mine is a noise issue on the upstream that the tech found at the node. Still waiting on Maintenance to fix as I called in to find out of Maintenance as reported and they said no they have not and the ticket is still open.

They were definitely rate limiting my usenet throughput, I called in and they had it fixed 10 minutes later after escalating with level 2 support. They never admitted it but it was obvious to me as an infrastructure specialist. Didn't get a call back and it just went away 10 minutes after my initial ticket, even though it was persistent for hours before that.

When they finally upgrade the area to 120mbit they are also going to have to upgrade the cisco 861 they gave me which only has 100mbit fast ethernet ports on it.
