It was $0.919 at the Esso on my way home, it was $0.999 in the morning; I think that they're competing with Costco as they're usually cheaper than the Petro Canada just down the road as well as some other neighbourhood stations. |

92.9 in Kanata today. |
|
|
wow. 87.9 here in Edmonton I see what they're doing |
|
|
I told you this would happen
Fraser Valley which is not part of Translink (Greater Vancouver area) $98.9-103.9
Greate Vancoucer area $118.9
There's a different of $.17 in Translink tax. When gas prices fell the difference between the two regions where $.05 and sometimes on par, now that prices have gone up, its back to $.15-20 difference.
Someone was cashing in somewhere on the difference. |

I dont have the time or the patience to benchmark it but i can guarantee that the price of oil right now is lower than a few months ago when gas was ~ $0.95/litre. It always seems to fall slowly and jump quickly and higher than it was previously. |

Yes, however i was just in NY and FL and gas was the equivalent of $0.75-0.80/litre after the conversions. Actual USD pricing was about $2.15/gal |

Not sure how that's relevant to your comments about the price in Canada a few months ago. Virtually nowhere in the US is gas taxed like it is in Canada. Expect it to be cheaper. |

I actually sent a complaint to the consumer protection bureau regarding gas price fixing as the station here closest to me was charging nine cents more in the morning than in the evening for a period of about 7 days straight. The station down the road began to do the same thing on the same day. The bureau told me there was nothing what so ever they can do without actual proof such as recordings or transcripts and that there were a "variety of reasons for fluctuationsin fuel pricing".
I get that gas goes up and down, but nine cents difference in less than 9 hours? |

even at the chart i posted above, it doesn't make any sense. since those two arrowed days the dollar was the same.
Yeh btech the competition office is useless they never do anything consumer pro |

As promised, it took a while though. I won't name the stations, who owns them, where I got them, or anything else. Though I will say that they're in Ontario, from the south part of the province and that's it. Retail prices for images 1: 96.1 2: 96.5 3: 94.5 4: 93.9 |

The longer price trend over a larger geographic area shows a different story. It's average price paid per litre over time that matters, not the price paid for each fillup. The wholesale price for gas has gone up in recent weeks. |

You have to be the biggest apologist for the oil companies, either you have a shitload of stock in the field, or are in management for one of them. |

So, oil has dropped to prices where it was when we were in the 80's cents week ago, and yet gas is at 102?
am i missing? |

am i missing? The part about being gouged. 1... 2... 3 ....4 ...5 waiting for DF to show up and once again defend the oil companies. Oh and its going up again tonight and TGPT is saying diesel is going up 7c ltr tonight. A few posts back btech complained to the competition bureau about the price fixing in his town, and they claimed they needed evidence. Yet they seem to be able to "request' (demand?) evidence from Sears and HBC about their mattress pricing. Funny how that works isn't it? |
|

Yeh i know that much .. i don't get it, according to » www.londongasprices.com/ ... just right outside of london 10 minutes away gas is 89 according to some stations and then you come to london and it is 1.02 + IF that is gouging what is... DF probably has shares etc and wants to price up.. there is no reason for these prices |

The latest I heard was that due to ongoing strikes at some refineries in the US there is a bottleneck in processing crude oil. So apparently while there's a glut of supply there is a shortage of end product, hence the prices of crude and gasoline diverging.
At least that's their story today. |
