Yes. Actually two times now.

Yesterday I installed Windows 8.1 Update 1 as a clean install from the ISO that I downloaded direct from Microsoft. When I went to check for updates, KB2919355 was offered as an update that I needed. I should have taken a screen shot of it, but I do remember it being around 135 MB or so in size.

I just checked now, and I am seeing it again, as shown below.

The only thing I can think of has to do with this text from the KB article.
quote:
Note Windows Update will offer and install multiple packages under KB2919355. However, there is only one update entry KB2919355 in Programs and Features. You can also use the DISM command to verify the installation or uninstallation of the update.

Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not, but did want to point that out.

I'm going to hold off installing it a 2nd time and see what other people have to say.

It also looks like this 2.6 MB part was published by Microsoft today, per my screen shot.

I have the Win8.1.1 update installed on our laptop but would love to have that .ISO disk you refer to as a backup. I missed how to get the .ISO file and cannot find it. Can you tell me how or give a link?

KB2199355 (aka Windows 8.1 Update 1) contains several files, including KB2199355.

Here's summary for you... (Thanks to Michael Niehaus of Microsoft)
The original MSDN download contained KB2919355, KB2932046, KB2937592, KB2938439, and KB2949621.

The first version of the update published to WU contained KB2919355, with child updates KB2932046, KB2937592, KB2938439, and KB2934018 (which is a roll-up containing KB2949621).

The second version of the update published to WU, which is the only one published to WSUS, added KB2959977 to the above list but made no other changes.

The 2.6mb file just released under the KB2919355 moniker is KB2959977. Here is a link to KB document:

I upgraded my computer to Windows 8.1 update 1 and installed the latter update. However, Windows update still shows that I need to install the follow-up update. What gives??

Just got this notification this morning and was totally confused, since I'd installed the same number update days ago, until I read this here. How bizarre for MS to issue the same number for an additional update! But once again, the folks here have cleared the confusion!

The previous one didn't require a restart, but the latest one did.

Whoever is running Win 8 over at MS really needs to be replaced.

Confusion upon confusion....
