1140 is about to go EOS from Cisco but of you don't mind that then I agree, a 1142 from eBay would be a good choice. I use one at home (along with a Meraki MR16). The 1142 is an IOS device and handles multiple VLAN's without issue. Most of my deployments use these or the newer 1602 or 2602 with anywhere between 5 to 10 wireless LAN's running across them.

If you're going for newer AP's have a look at getting a PoE switch or using PoE injectors. Makes life much easier. The SG200-8-PT is an 8 port managed PoE switch that I use often for multi VLAN installs where there is a lack of cable infrastructure for adding lots of new devices to a LAN.
