Comcast service quality is

regional. Depends on the contractor, the contract and where you live.

I had comcast. It was FAR and way better than DSL (which was all there was).
Then my TV signal sucked. They came out when they said. And left but didn't say anymore.
I call two more times. They replaced the splitter, the cablebox. They verified the issue was outside the house (not inner cabling)..

Guess what? two days before the issue started, a FiOS contractor was in the area. They put a box in the ground nearby. It was suspect that they "damaged" the cable.

A week later, FiOS tag on my door (and a call I made) verified I could have Fios.

Never went back to Comcast. But then, it comes down to price, speed, reliability. If you can have 3 of 4 ... customer service can be last (I can self serve my connection).
