Re: "Upgraded"NO! $76.46 is the worst deal ever! I am in the same boat with the earthlink package. The horrid Motorola modem SUCKS really bad. it incredibly slow to boot, and takes at least 10 resets to send a wan IP to my router. i think TW is doing this on purpose to get customers to pay for the router features of the modem. what kind of slimy crooked sinister company does that? In any case, its all over. I am switching to RCN's 110Mbps for $49.99 next month since TW kindly increased my monthly rate 3 times in the past year to $48.99. RCN also has 50Mbps for $39.99 and a 25Mbps plus digital TV for the same price, which i might switch to later on. |

I got a new Modem in the mail from Time Warner. This is the Modem that will be compatiable for the MAXX speeds, once it hits Astoria, as Woodside. The store near me in the mall in Elmhurst, is the worst store and customer service of any company I've dealt with (i'm 44 this august).
Back to the topic. They sent me an Arris - TG1672 /Internet/Phone/Wireless - Amazing Modem - here is this site to view it.

Out of curiosity, would a DOCSIS 1.1 vs. a DOCSIS 2.0 vs. a DOCSIS 3.0 modem perform any differently on the same package (say 15/1)? Would I see better ping times with the latter? |

You'd possibly see more consistent speeds with DOCSIS 3, as you're able to use more "lanes" to avoid congestion. I've had all flavors of DOCSIS modems, but I have never seen ping times change despite the differences in DOCSIS tech. My gateway ping has been 9-10ms since the early 2000's. |

I bought a SB6141. Today, I would have had to wait over an hour to return my leased modem at the local office, so I left. They wouldn't just take the modem. Over the phone, they already removed the lease fee yesterday when I called to provision my purchased modem. How long can I wait to return the modem without being re-charged the lease fee for not returning it? I'll be out of town for a few weeks so today was my only shot.
Also, does it have to go to TWC Rochester or can I give to a store in the TWC Albany area? |

When I bought my own modem, I had it 2-3 weeks before I turned it in without issue. I posted about and Hob was surprised - but that was my experience. I dropped off at the TW store on Mt. Hope in Rochester. |
