Re: IMG 1.9.6 for Cisco boxesThanks. BTW, is anyone currently getting issues with MPEG-4 channels on Cisco boxes? If yes, what channels are they? Does it happen randomly, or is there a specific scenario (or sequence of steps/channel changes) during which the issue is seen? |

Mr Fios Feed -
Channels are 616, 1516, 1538, 1539. It happens all of the time - and on DVR and HD boxes (which was why i initially thought it could be a VSO problem (Talleyville, DE) - as other MPEG-4 HD channels do NOT have this issue)
Issue is simply watching the live broadcast. Take, for instance - 616 and 1539 have a ticker along the bottom. The ticker, instead of scrolling, jumps every few seconds. It stutters along instead of flowing like, for instance, on CNBC HD.
Also, 1538 and 1539 are Spanish sports channels. Many times, live soccer will be on. The players will be running down the field, and the picture literally jumps - it's as if frames were being dropped. Other times on all 4 channels - watching newscasts - the anchor will be talking and again, stuttering is the best word I can think of. The persons figure will jut back and forth. Let me know if you need any more ammo! And welcome to the forum! |

Attached a file showing the stuttering ticker and picture on 616 OAN HD. It does this constantly - picture flickering, etc. |

Thanks JeepMatt. I am sorry, but what channels are they? If you could name the channels, that would help. I am not sure which VHO you are in, so I do not know what channels those channel numbers correspond to. |

Sorry - VHO8 Philadelphia, PA - VSO Talleyville, DE
616 - One America News HD 1516 - Multimedias HD 1538 - beIN Sport Espanol HD 1539 - Univision Deportes HD
As I mentioned, it really only affects these 4 channels.
beIN Sport HD on 598 is great, Sony Movie Channel, ESPN Desportes HD - all fine - and all also MPEG-4... |

1.9.6 Live in VHO8 on Cisco Boxes Shrunk Info Bar - No Likey |
1.9.6 Build 18.12 hit my STB's overnight. Based on what FIOS Feed originally listed - all of those features are there. Auto Tune to HD, the VOD icon in the guide, etc. However, I'm attaching a picture of the new "Channel Info Bar". They really did shrink it. I have to admit, initially, I really don't like it. I liked how the info bar spanned across your entire screen (especially coming from the X1 with Comcast). It now almost looks like something that would've been done 5 years ago (no offense FIOS Feed) You can see the progress bar - it's almost all the way across since it was almost 7am. Nice touch. |

I have two things to say. First of all in your picture of TNT showing us it says On Demand, it doesn't even show the channel number! Are all the channels that say Browse On Demand missing the channel number? That's horrible! Second, why are the two pictures of your info bar showing the progress two different ways? The first picture has an arrow, the second has the color white filling up the bar where the show is up to. We have white now which I like, I don't like the arrow in the first picture, but why are they different? |

1) It has the icon and the channel # listed as usual when - but the picture I took is when you hit left and actually highlight the channel icon itself to use the VOD "link".
2) Funny you mentioned that. I have the standard white bar now on all of my channels. I'm wondering if it had that arrow in the 1st one b/c it was 1 minute before the hour / half-hour? I'll test it in 4 minutes and let you know. Maybe it was just an initial blip? |

Ahh, ok thanks. You have to press the left arrow to highlight it. Thanks. |

I don't see the VOD info in the channel bar on ch931. Also what other channels in the guide have the reel icon? I only see it on TNT |

I only see it on TNT I think for the channel bar VOD link - the movie actually has to be On Demand. Meaning, when i took the picture, Syriana was on and is available on VOD - but now, Something About Mary is on, and that most likely isn't. (Assuming this for now) |

What about the main guide with the reel VOD? I've checked most of them and only TNT has it. I do have folders for TLC and others. |

Re: IMG 1.9.6 for Cisco boxesThe new info box is strange, it's going backwards in design. Something I would expect to see with Comcast pre-X1, graphical wise. Not sure why the info bar was changed to not span the entire widescreen? That said I do like the new progress bar, could spruce it up a bit but it's simple and works.
Maybe I never noticed but in full screen guide the channel logos look distorted, aspect ratio wise.
Lastly why the inconsisent color scheme? Now we have a white infobar. Can't we stick with one color scheme instead of different colors across the different guide components? |

Jaw- Yep, I agree with you on the info box. Rarely I hate updates - but agree with you - the new "shrunk" look appears 2005-ish, instead of 2014. The way it spanned the whole screen in 1.9.5 is much more appealing. |

Re: IMG 1.9.6 for Cisco boxesWell. I just discovered a quirk with this new update (1.9.6), that being the inability to now zoom my picture with the remote's # key. I had someone from Verizon FIOS on the phone who said he had not encountered this issue yet. It turns out that my TV tethered to the DVR STB works just fine, but the other two, connected to STB's, but using the DVR remotely, do not allow for the # key to work at all and resize the picture. Lo and behold, the customer service tech tried it at their office and found that their TV connected to DVR worked and the other one with plain STB did not, same problem. He issued a ticket for this and maybe I will be lucky and it will get resolved quickly. Who knows? Let us know if you encounter this problem, post-updates too. |

said by FiOS_feed :Sure. For 1.9.7, unfortunately, no specific information can be disclosed at this stage. Having said, that please post if you have any specific issues that need to be addressed. They will be looked at .. Trying to figure out why 1) the VOD reel icon on the guide only shows for TNT when there are other VOD folders available. and 2) in the channel bar I don't see the Press OK for On Demand (look at the 2nd page of this thread posted by JeepMatt). |

WHS- Have to admit, not seeing it on many - but tune to HBO HD right now (899) - you'll see it for Pacific Rim. |

Something else noticed. When you select a channel from the guide it no longer shows the channel bar when it initially tunes to the channel. |
|
|

Currently, it is linked only for TNT. And, there is no linking from the infobar. |

On what channels? Is the behavior consistent across all the channel tunes from guide? |

It hasn't done that in a long time, since one of the IMG upgrades long ago. I complained about that when it first happened, but they never fixed it. |
