[IE] IE 10 annoyances

Hi - as I recall, I had basically had the same issue in IE 8 as well were I would go onto a webpage and whenever I press on the browser's back button it would still go to the same webpage. Then after hitting the back button many times, then finally it would go back to the previous page which was Google.

I don't know how but some pages are built like that. I get around it by right clicking on the arrow top left af the navigation bar and clicking on where i want to go back to.

Same expected behaviour as rfhar See Profile, instead HOLD the left click mouse button over the back arrow until a drop down menu appears.

It is because you were redirected to the page you are on. Hit back and you get the redirect back to where you are. The dropdown or like you said hit back a bunch fast is how to do it. Its not just IE either.

Re: [IE] IE 10 annoyances

When web pages load, there are adverts on these sites.
Clicking back will be the last advert page before another click or 2 will get you the previous web page.

Hosts' files affect this too.

This is normal.

Do as rfhar See Profile and Dustyn See Profile suggests to stop the behavior.

Yes I suppose this is why!!

I have discovered clicking back QUITE FAST 2 times usually gets you out of it..... (Not all the time though)

Re: [IE] IE 10 annoyances

Try this FAQ at MVPS.
It is not a Microsoft issue as such.

Why doesn't my Back Button return me to the previous page?

I was a little off in my reply, it isn't the advert but the iframe for the advert.
