[Spam] Any tips to get off Russan mailing lists ?

Somehow 2 of my Comcast email addy's were compromised and I have been drowning in Russian dating crap and "little blue pill" emails. I say 'somehow' because I use a masked email when registering on odd sites. The only thing I can think of is a vindictive local business who had both email addys and the junk email started about 3 weeks after a falling out.

I duly report the headers to Comcast and spamcop dot net. Any ideas how to get it to stop short of closing down those email accounts? I use an email client, and it's just annoying as heck.

At 60+ years of age, I can live without 'hot Russian brides' and little blue pill stuff. Thanks !!

I am not familiar with Comcast's filter options, but a lot of services let you setup mail filters based on a variety of things. If the subject lines are similar enough, you could create a filter from it.

Try changing the password and see if it helps any.

Yes, changing up passwords is a good habit but of all the good reasons to do that, getting off a rogue spam list is not one of them.

Camelot One See Profiles suggestion of using filters is a relevant mitigation suggestion.

Does Comcast not reliably filter spam? Google, MSN, and Yahoo! filter spam to a "Bulk/Junk/Spam" folder quite reliably.

Thinking about it, does Comcast have a "report spam" function?

I don't know. I'd have to ask a Comcast user.

I did a poor job of directing that question to the OP

Lol, Snowy - I have those days, too.

Yes, Comcast has a "report spam" feature and I have reported at least 230 of these (cuss word) emails since Nov 2013. The filter on my email client is better. But what I'm trying to figure out is ... how can I get OFF this Russian bride and Viag*a list?

I also have friends with Yahoosie accounts that have been hacked. Could that be related ?

I am the Princess of "forwarding complete emails with headers" now.

Note that I am just the messenger...
No, that is not possible.
The solution is in the hands of Comcast.
Of the numerous Gmail accounts I use I cannot remember the last time spam was allowed into any inbox.
Gmail has solved the problem - Comcast could if they chose to do so.

Hijacked contact lists are just one source of email addresses.

Aah, that explains part of the problem -
Chances are you have little use for a Russian bride.

You do though sound like a great candidate for submitting phishmail to the phishtracker should you receive any.
