I was unbeliever when it came to any rebates or cash back promos. For the hack of it i have given a shot at it and i did not think i would ever get it. Well i am proven wrong today i have received a $10 prepaid Visa card by mail from Newegg.

MIR are rare these days, but out of several dozen over the past 20 years, I've never NOT had one come through. Glad you had the same good luck!

Many places still give MIR's. Unfortunately many of them these days are given to you as prepaid Visa cards which are paying to use in many cases.

To me prepaid Visa cards are better than getting a check. The only draw back is you can't use it at gas stations, convenience stores or ATMs.

They make money on the prepaid cards. How many people are able to get every last penny off of them? I bet most people leave a few cents to a few dollars on them because of the hassle. They aren't like gift cards which return the available balance, they just deny the entire charge.

I once saw a mail in rebate for a $0.99 box of tissues. It was ridiculous. The stamp costs half that.

Yes you can. You just can't use it at pay at the pump. Go inside and prepay for the amount of your gift card, then pump your gas up to the dollar limit on the card. I've done it several times that way.

I hate the rebate cards. With the checks I can deposit them straight to my bank account. If I am spending more than is on the rebate card I just tell the clerk to charge what ever the amount that is on the rebate card to it, then charge the rest to my regular card. Have not had a problem doing this.
