Run the Beta channel - it is using Australis UI.

Thanks for the links - the Google Groups thread has some hints though nothing concrete that I could see. We'll see how it fleshes out at the next release.

I'm using the latest Thunderbird 30, which technically has australis, but don't see any differences. IOW, it really doesn't have any of the major UI changes yet.

I'm using TB 24.5.0 with rounded tabs and have no trouble with it.
And no I don't run Beta software as I have no room for down time
