Awesome pictures. How does the built in router work for you? What do you have hooked up to it? Phone service as well? And how much do you pay for your SH service? (Sounds like a top bundle to me)

Didn't you just get the letter that the work is being completed in the next few weeks? And how did you get the new equip? Via mail? Also how's the speedtest on PS3? The one built-in via Network Settings on XMB. I am curious, thanks.

I see that you have a phone too, good thing for those that want wideband speeds and have to get a separate modem for the phone.

Mc Kenna what's your zipcode? I want to check some random addresses around Steinway St and see if TWC site shows 300 mbps.

Very nice.

It just figures TWC finally starts doing impressive stuff on their way out.

unfortunately, for those who have the 8x4 modem..the download remains at 100 mbps but the upload is bumped up to 10 mbps. if you want the new 16x4 modem to get the 300/20 speeds, you can go pick it up yourself from the TWC store or have it mailed to you--though I imagine I would need to return the current modem anyway. They would not schedule a tech visit to do the swap

EDIT:

After I said OK to the modem being shipped, he asked me about available dates and times and then scheduled a tech visit on Thursday 5pm after work. So I guess it is being swapped at my convenience. Surprised there!

Not bad TWC..not bad.

You can chat with the customer service reps using the TWC website (the area where you check your statements, etc.). He scheduled a technician to come by and swap it out..after asking a few times.

If you're still using the old modem (tg682g), you will be bumped up in upload to 10 but stay at 100 (mine dropped 5 mpbs from 112 to 107 actually).

There has always been a wideband + eMTA modem available, however it is a wireless gateway as well. I have a TG852 with 50 meg service in Ohio.

Odds that we'll see this in any of TWC's smaller markets before 2018, if ever? Highly unlikely.

But do any of those initiatives yet have concrete plans to actually bring us fiber? There's only one reason the Triangle, a tech hub of the Southeast, doesn't have fiber to the home deployed: lobbyists. The state legislature has been bought by Time Warner and they're doing everything to stop municipal/co-op ISPs from forming.

Looks nice unfortunately here in queens rockaway park we have a bit too much noise on the upstream for the upstream 64QAM channels to be stable.
