TWC MAXX SoCal?What parts are getting the upgrade? Is it possible that it's coming to my area(Ventura County)? Currently FIOS is kicking Time Warner Cable's butt here. |

As far as I understand, everything that is part of the "Los Angeles" Market....
If you are on this map, you will (eventually) get it. Pretty sure the Los Angeles county and Orange County parts will be the first to get upgraded, followed by the rest.
Word is that it should all be done by the end of 2014, and if you are in a lesser important market area, chances are high it will be closer to the end of 2014 then the always really clear projection of "soon".

Cool, I'm in the "North Division". I'm on FIOS, but TWC Maxx seems to be a better value for the money. I wonder how Verizon will respond. |

Grab some darts and throw it at this map. That would probably be a more accurate predictor. They got the 100mbps upgrade to Valencia pretty quick, but I see no signs of work on upstream bonding or 16 channel downstream bonding. |

For map lovers, this one is superb. Another interesting part of the map that isn't included is the sub sections of each of the three zones. Does TWC divide the specific zone into sub zones? Are those sub zones mapped by neigborhood and if so, how does TWC structure the zone to the house with the various engineering aspects of the service? |

said by Hawk:No "Desert Cities" on the map? Desert Cities TWC is not Los Angeles market, they are their own market and DMA. Whether they are doing MAXX this year, I do not know. San Diego is it's own market and DMA as well. Different locals, etc. They have a lot more autonomous control about when they implement new services I believe, TWC has just set market #1 (New York) and market #2 (Los Angeles) as their primary targets for this year. I don't know what other markets are working on MAXX. |

Not part of poorly-named "Socal" market (neither is San Diego). The "Socal" market was the map you see. A better name would have been "LA and surrounding areas" but that's too wordy. The territory is still reflected in your IP address reverse DNS. "socal.res.rr.com" vs "dc.res.rr.com" vs "san.res.rr.com". They seem to be moving away from those groupings though. Socal and San Diego used to have their own versions of the TWC website, with completely different URLs. Companies are always vague about what they mean by "LA" when they announce stuff in press releases. LA City? LA County? |

Yeah, LA is so big. Even desert areas like Palmdale/Lancaster are still considered "North LA" and is part of LA County. Palm Springs area is Riverside Co. And San Diego has always seemed to be broken away from everything. I remember back in the days when cell service didn't have LD, Socal calling with no LD charges always omitted San Diego County. |

Thanks guys for the explanation/definitions. Odd they consider and list San Bernardino County but not Riverside County in the overall market coverage. There has been an increase of the larger TWC construction vehicles in the area over the last several months but anyones guess what the purpose might be. |

One should also remember that Los Angeles TWC didn't used to be this large.
Before 2007, the current TWC market was divided in Comcast, Adelphia and TWC. When Adelphia went belly up, TWC and Comcast divided up what was left, and Comcast gave up its Los Angeles market, and gained other markets in return. So the Los Angeles market literary exploded, and it took quite a few years before TWC got it all straightened out.
I don't know the history of areas like Lancaster, but historically there were 3 TWC markets in Socal, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Desert Cities, its just that the LA one exploded into what it is today in 2008. |

There have been lots of Time Warner trucks in the Seal Beach area lately so I'm hoping we'll be getting this upgrade to MAXX soon. |
