The latest FF and Nightly both show Adobe Flash Plugin to be updated, yet Flashplayer 13.0.0.214 crashes. No video or sound!

I just found the solution: Adding ProtectedMode=0 to the end of the file mms.cfg
as shown in the following link, courtesy of jscher2000:

Thank you and don't forget to un-check the extras like toolbar, etc.

I haven't seen anything like that in many years for Flash Player. It doesn't even look like there is an option to download to disk and then install! I would NEVER not download to disk first so that I have a copy in case I need it later. I don't install things I can't download to disk first.

So, I use the OP's link. Then I reset Flash Player to NEVER update and I watch for an update thread here to know when it is time to download a new version.

it seems to be working fine for me, with FF 24.5 ESR, with the "adblock plus" and "noscript" addons..

i am running windows xpsp3..

if i run into problems, i will try the tweak that you mentioned..

It seems to be working for me on the Flash Help page. This is on Fx 24.5 ESR.

However, the Flash help page reports that I am on Windows 7! I'm on Windows 8.
