[Config] Internet bandwidth limit in 3560 vlans

Hi , I have 3560 l3 switch connected to 2911 router which inturns connected to ISP internet of 20 Mb.I have created 3 vlans in 3560 switch .I want to divide the 20 Mb bandwidth as 6Mb to each vlan,How can i do that with effecient commands!!!??

Three questions :

a) is this 20Mbps bidirectional you get from the ISP, or 20Mbps down and an asymmetric X Mbps value upload?

b) did you at least take a look at the forum FAQ, specifically section 50.7 ?

c) what is your endgoal and/or intent here in carving up your bandwidth like this?

I should add that QOS is UNIDIRECTIONAL, not a bidirectional mechanism, so not sure if you got your design right.

a) Yes it is symmetric(optic fiber link)
b)No solon at all.
c)End goal is to divide the bandwidth to be utilized in its vlan only (i.e not allowing one vlan to swallow majority of bandwidth.

Now My question in short is about the configuration i.e to do configuration for it in the router interface or just only on 3560 vlan based......

I would put this off on the router and trunk the vLans to the switch.

Create 3 sub interfaces and add the following to each:

rate-limit input 6192000 1536000 2048000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop
rate-limit output 6192000 1536000 2048000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop

Thanks ! But have a single routing port between 2911 router a 3560 switch...and internet is coming from the router through that port to the sitch and then distributed further...I mean what to do with that routing port on the 3560(l3) switch if have to trunks the three interfaces from the router to the switch...????

...as you've got GigE interfaces (and likely GigE NICs on your hosts) on the 3560, you put the config on those
interfaces, you're going to limit speeds on your LAN, I can tell you that.

If you want full LAN speeds and to limit as they cross onto the 20Mbps fiber, THAT'S where you'd put the QOS config.

You obviously didn't read this article...

Just create a trunk port between the switch and router.
