Slim pickings for me, as I'm only interested in Graceland and Falling Skies. And of the two, none are must-see-TV.
Maybe I'll watch a couple of episodes of Under The Dome to see if the story has improved at all, but I'm not hopeful.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

Related to this, three new shows from USA Networks coming July (I think):

Satisfaction
Rush
Complications

Ugh.

I am a huge Stephen King fan and I literally couldn't finish season one. Deleted the last couple episodes from the DVR, unwatched. That is some bad tv.

The Missus and I will watch the last season of True Blood, not exactly great tv either but at least it's fun. That's it from that list.

But it's also getting tired with the crises of the season. I wish it could pick some actual court cases and use them for a show [like Boston Legal].

I read that King actually liked some of the changes made to his story for the show.
One of them was the actual Dome.

It's not the Dome that made it bad. I read the book and liked it very much so it's not the overall story either. The adaptation is just...bad. The film version of Langoliers bad. The film version of Dreamcatcher bad. The casting, dialogue, acting...bad. I really tried to like it but like SixOfNine See Profile said

I think that's what distinguishes it from most legal shows, less legal.more drama.

For me, the majority of King's horror sucks. And it doesn't translate well into film.
His other stuff though, is pretty awesome.
The Running man.
Green Mile.
Shawnshank redemption
Stand by me.
Misery.

All great stories that made great movies.
I would love to see The girl who loved Tom Gordon made into a film. I think it would do will.
As would the Dark Tower.

The Stand. I'm 50/50 on this one.
The Shining: Never watched it, nor am I interested in it.
The others I didn't mention because I saw them, and thought them meh.

Agreed. But it gets kinda repetitive to have the firm on the brink of destruction every season.
Now maybe have Mike get caught in bed with Harvey, or Donna and Rachael having a slumber party, now that would make for interesting Drama.

I think the Dark Tower could either way.
The Shining (original version) was well done, though I saw the movie before I read the book.

I've been waiting since forever for The Dark Tower no idea yet if it'll ever come I think the plan called for a TV series book ended with a pair of movies. I'll have to look into it again when I find the time and see if there are any Dark Tower updates since the last time I checked for it.

From Sept 2013, I think this was the last best unofficial official word:

»hbowatch.com/ron-howard-mentions···terview/

And it'd be nice if this were still in play but I kind of doubt it after all this time:

Oh man can you imagine a Dark Tower HBO series a la Game of Thrones? How great would that be?

Anyway sorry didn't mean to derail the thread with all the Stephen King talk.

I think it would be interesting. Or maybe on AMC, FX, even.
Might be a tad mature for MTV.
