Re: Can't forward from Google Voice to Ring.To?N9MD - Thanks for doing that legwork - I never would have known how to ferret out that information. It sure seems to contradict their comment about 'a few pockets' as the 517 area includes metropolitan Lansing and East Lansing with a population of over 250,000. |

Big pockets.
-----
What I'm not getting is how they cannot port [existing] GV numbers because AFAIK Bandwidth was the CLEC for GV---unless they were using additional CLEC in some areas. |

said by Air :N9MD - Thanks for doing that legwork ... My pleasure. Perhaps you can tell us the 3-digit exchange and the first digit of your GV subscriber number (517-xxx-x---) which will help resolve our curiosity as to which CLEC GV obtained your DID from. |

Wow, nothing in 248, either. That's another million-ish "pocket" right there that they don't get to. |

It's must be like the "flyover" rule in politics - if you're in the area that you flyover going to a major (and influential) area, you probably will not get ported (and in an election courted ) |

My experience using your example is opposite. I am attempting to port to ring.to a 360-335-3xxx which is a Level 3 number in the Camas rate center. Bandwidth has presence in that rate center at 360-818-4xxx. I opened a support query via email two days ago and only received the instant you are in the queue reply.
BTW this is not a GV number. |

» www.localcallingguide.co ··· xtdays=0 (Block 3) identifies Level 3 Comm as the CLEC. Most of the failed portability issues thus far appear to be for DIDs in rate centers without a Bandwidth presence. |

For those that qualify, of course..... And are willing to pay for Anveo 911, even if you already have 911 service from another provider. |
