Are you aware that you traded a modem for a gateway? If your connecting another router to it, your probably having dual NAT issues. Also, I believe Cox's firmware disables the bridge mode, so just disabling wireless isn't enough. I suggest returning it for a stand alone modem, which would either be the DPC3010 or Motorola SB6141.
And Cox, please stop pushing crappy gateways onto your customers who don't know better.
