The way things are yesterday or presently do not set them in stone as being permanent and the only way of things happening.
If you take away laws designed to create corruption and take away laws intended to provide more help to those who do not need help, then you create more equality that allows anyone willing and able to be chosen by others to do the task desired.
A simple start to most of the issues would be to make it illegal for elected officials to have private meetings or correspondence or any communication with lobbying entities. Ensure that their communication is with individuals, aka voters, and extend this to all their staff and family members.
Our government is more commercialized and pro private profit before anything else than it has ever been, nothing happens unless it can only positively affect a non-government entities revenue.
